AUSTIN, Jan. 17, 2007 – Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc, business unit Intelligent Transportation Systems (Siemens ITS), today announced the U.S. launch of PC SCOOT, the latest version of the SCOOT Adaptive Traffic Control system. For the first time, the world’s most widely deployed adaptive traffic control software is now available for delivery in the United States on a standard PC platform running under the Microsoft Windows Operating System.
PC SCOOT creates a commonality of computing platform across a range of traffic management and control systems, thereby increasing standardization with traffic control centers and improved access to management and adaptive data.

Siemens recently participated in the legislative outreach sponsored by ITS Maryland. The Transportation Technology fair was held in the Maryland State Senate Building in Annnapolis, Maryland on March 2. The purpose of the event was to showcase regional ITS initiatives and to offer detailed insight into those initiatives to the State Legislators and their staff. Siemens' exhibit featured our involvement in the Montgomery County Advanced Transportation Management System as well as the Systems Integrator for the Replacement of the Baltimore City Traffic System. Attendees from Siemens included Louis Neudorff, Diederick VanDillen, and Del Nichols.

Siemens announces the qualification of the Model 2070L Controller from the California Department of Transportation. The evaluation and testing of two controllers was completed, in which both units(s) were compliant. After meeting the requirements and specifications accordingly, these unit(s)were then put onto the Qualified Products List (QPL).
