Siemens
Providing the Total Solution for your traffic system needs.
Siemens Traffic Solutions projects require technically diverse skills to successfully deliver results. Most important is a keen understanding and application of system management concepts and associated tools to ensure technical, cost, and schedule goals are met. Projects are typically composed of multiple tasks, where knowledge of project planning, scope definition, estimating and controlling time and costs, quality assurance, human resource management, risk management, procurement, and the creation, collection, and distribution of information is vital for success.
Successful management lays first and foremost with skilled project personnel. The Siemens Project Director is backed-up with appropriate tools and procedures to provide the necessary project review and oversight that ensures products and services are delivered on time and on budget while meeting intended objectives. As an ITS specialty firm, Siemens takes great pride in its history of delivering projects on time and within budget.

| Defines goals and objectives of each of the project tasks, scope, project constraints, and risks. | Activities defined, measurable targets defined, estimated durations, resources needed, estimated costs, tasks sequenced in Work Breakdown Structure, schedule prepared, and risk mitigation strategies defined. | Project or task progress, measurement against scope, cost and schedule, problems identified and resolved and corrective actions applied. |
Siemens procedural approach in managing projects is to develop a clear and concise work plan. This plan is the blue print the Team follows to deliver the objective solution. This table shows a representation of the three critical steps in establishing the plan.
Siemens internal quality and cost control practices are firmly rooted in the system engineering process. Siemens employs a Quality and Cost Control Plan (QCCP) procedure for each development project. The QCCP procedure places a specific emphasis on the quality of the products to be provided for each project. The quality portion of the plan consists of two parts: quality assurance and quality control. The quality assurance element ensures that:
(a) the day-to-day accomplishments of the project are completed in an efficient, professional manner(b) the best people are assigned to each individual work item, and (c) a peer review process is in place to ensure that the best approach to specific problems is being undertaken. The quality control element formalizes and specifies in detail the checking and review process for each deliverable prior to its final production. Included in this process are records management, documentation control, and corrective action procedures.
