ACTRA is an effective scalable system able to support everything from small town thoroughfares to major metropolitan areas traffic needs. Expanded Control without Losing Closed Loop Capabilities While all of the features of a closed loop system are included to support Masters and Master controlled intersections, ACTRA expands on this capability and provides a robust and expansive traffic control solution through the use of dynamic grouping.
Dynamic grouping provides the ability for an intersection to be maintained by system control rather than through connection to a Master controller. Intersections can move between groups at any time, as many times as needed. Users can upload and download intersection data from a local controller at any system workstation to a centralized database.

Whether ACTRA is to control a few intersections or several hundred, the system is able to grow with changing traffic needs. Its modular design allows the addition of entities (e.g. intersections, masters) and operator workstations without the replacement of hardware and software.
ACTRA's client/server design provides a high degree of reliability through distributed processing. This allows easy system expansion and customization, including multi-jurisdictional access and integration with third-party systems.
ACTRA's central software has an object-oriented structure with discrete modules which allows incremental upgrades and enhancements without requiring a complete system overhaul.
